A Taxi Driver, a local and a rickshaw will behave like a friend. They will try to convince you to visit a tourist agency. If you purchase anything, then they will get a commission. They will ask where you are from and is your first time here? Do not tell anyone that you are coming here first time. If you answer yes, then they will start their SCAMMING game. NEVER tell anyone that you have come here first time.

Some travel agencies look official and are certified by the government. If you believe anyone blindly, then you will make a big mistake in your travel history. Most of the travel agencies are fake. First of all, they will charge very high, and you will not get what you paid for. You can say Delhi is the father of fake agencies and humanity.

Some scammers will tell you that your existing plan is invalid. They will offer to rebook you at inflated prices through their agency. If you feel it is too good and cheap, then there is a 99% chance it will be a scam.

Suggestions to protect from fraud:

  1. In the case of Transport, always prefer Uber and Ola (four-wheelers and two-wheelers) and Rapido (two-wheelers).
  2. Fairy tales: Avoid offering free direction or assistance along with bags or transportation hubs, or an unofficial guide offer.
  3. Tourist Office: Always be aware of individuals who claim that he or she is associated with the official tourist office. They must try to bring you an alternative tourist, and they must sell you fake service or overprice service. The actual tourist office is situated at 88 Janpath Road.
  4. Train or Bus Ticket: Do not buy any single ticket from an unauthorised person who is selling a train or bus ticket.  If you are at the New Delhi Railway Station, don’t listen to anyone, just go to the location 1st Floor and buy your tickets there.
  5. Too Good offer: You need to ignore those individuals who are offering too many offers based on your tour.
  6. Bus Ticket: Do not take the help of a taxi or auto driver to buy your bus ticket. Always prefer MakeMyTrip.
